I’m looking forward to this event. One of my goals this year was to attend more conventions so this is a great way for me to do just that. I’m ready to mingle with fellow authors and find out more about them and their books. This should be a lot of fun and a wonderful experience for all. The chance to interact with readers is one of the main reasons Goodreads exists.

I’m counting the days and hope to meet plenty of readers and writers. Mark the dates and make time to visit the cyber fairground to meet authors in your favorite genres. See you there!

  1. This goes to show I REALLY need to spend more time on Goodreads. Thanks for the post! I totally missed this event. Time to set up my booth! 🙂

    1. Hi Wei…join in on the scavenger hunt as well. If I understood it right, we place a clue on the front page of our website and then have the questions for those clues on/in (our booth, one of the websites in the hunt, somewhere?). Those who visit all the sites to gather the clues win (prizes, accolades, something?) from the authors.
      Sounds like fun or something…

      1. I think I will! I’m thinking of a grand prize of all three books in my trilogy. 😀 And just signed up for Rafflecopter to handle the issue of who with all the clues wins. lol.

I guess the last decision is go solo or link with other fantasy blogs for an even bigger grand prize? I posted in the Scavenger hunt threat. Find me there!

  2. Very excited to be a part of this as well. Like you, I’m really looking forward to talking with readers and getting some valuable input as to what everybody is looking for. Are you going to be in the scavenger hunt as well? If so, I’ve already put a link on my website front page and a special page with the answer to my question. If you join in, let me know and I’ll give you my question to post. I think the hunt was supposed to be teams of three but who knows…

  3. Sorry, had to go do Daddy-Kiddo stuff. OK, from what I gathered, an author sets up three (or more) questions on his site. The answers to them are on all the websites of the participating writers. For instance, my question is “Who is chosen to lead the 6 Armies?”
So the link to my site gets followed (generating site visits and who knows what else) where the answer sits. My site is at http://bit.ly/edireland You’ll see the clue link is there on the front page. I think it’s just a matter of how many team members and who hosts the questions. Figure the rewards from each writer should be posted as well. Let me know what y’all think.

    1. Ok, so I post your question with the link to the answer and provide you my question with a link to the answer and possibly something to download that the participants may need to present such as a copy of the cover of my upcoming book. Still fuzzy on prizes – do we offer that as a group?

      1. I think it depends on what you want to do. Some authors look to be doing this individually (though asking for you to find things on other blogs) and some have pulled resources to offer a bigger prize (like a book from each of us). I’m open to either. If you want to all chip in a book and a question, I’ll go with a combined scavenger hunt as well as a more in-depth scavenge of my site to win a copy of the entire series.

Let me know, I’m game for both! And if I figure out this rafflecopter thing, will volunteer the setup for you to use. (unless you are an expert – then tag: you’re it!)

      2. Can you email me edireland’s contact info? Then we can move this off of your comments section! lol. I’ll need questions, answers, and book titles. 🙂

  4. Sounds good to me. So, I’ll kick in 2 books for my part of the prize. I like the Rafflecopter idea for prize rewards. Yeah, I’m definitely in and thinking maybe we should list the questions on all of our websites with the rafflecopter URL thingie for turn-ins?
Wow…amazed at how technically proficient I am. Sheeesh!

    1. Ok, I’ll get a question together and a turn-in. I’ve already got a link and freebie coupon for my book which I can provide wherever needed.
