FYI, “Swimming is something I do” (one of the examples of “passive voice” given in the original post) is not passive voice at all. I agree that writers should strive to use active voice as much as possible, but a lot of “this is passive voice — don’t write this way” advice on the internet is incorrect. (Where could you possibly add “by zombies” to the sentence “Swimming is something I do” and have it still be grammatically correct?)
