Reader Response from Twitter

I was just having a conversation with a reader today on Twitter and got this nice feedback. What a nice compliment!

Twitter Reader Response

bow of destinyThanks for stopping by to read today.

I’ll make an appearance on 8/13 in RRBC’s Book & Blog Block Party. Then I’ll be on The Lost Bow Blog Tour from 8/14-20. I’ll post more news about the tour as it becomes available.

And one final tidbit – for those who might have seen it on my Twitter feed, I’ve been contacted by a teacher about including The Bow of Destiny in her curriculum. I don’t know much at this time other than it’s being considered. If it is, I’ll share more information ASAP. It’s interesting news at this point and another great reason to write!

Now that we have all the preliminaries out of the way I’ve got a nice surprise for you today. Do you like amusement park rides? I mean, who doesn’t? Well, tomorrow I head out on a week-long blog tour. Specifically, The Lost Bow Tour and it’s going to be fun because you get to take some fund rides through the fantasy world of Denaria that parallel some of the adventures from The Bow of Destiny. Along the way, we’ll take a few breaks by a campfire and talk about how the book was written and more!

Day 1: A Windy Ride

Day 2: A Fireside Chat

Day 3: The Well of the Trolls

Day 4: A Bit More about Denaria

Day 5: The Raging River

Day 6: Reviews and Interviews

Now you should know this will not be like parks you might go to. First of all there’s not a bit of safety features and no warnings that you normally get. So just be aware, you are along for the ride – really along for the ride. Speaking of being along for the ride, check out this interview of Limbreth from The Bow of Destiny on Lisa Burton Radio which is actually pretend radio. But you can check out my internet radio interview on Speculative Cantina.

So, here’s what I -. What’s that? What about the book? Ok,let me tell you a bit about the book just for some context:

bow of destinyHaunted by his past. Hunted in the present. Uncertain what is real.

Athson has seen things that aren’t there and suffered fits since being tragically orphaned as a child at the hands of trolls and Corgren the wizard. When a strange will mentioning a mysterious bow comes into his possession, he’s not sure it’s real. But the trolls that soon pursue him are all too real and dangerous. And what’s worse, these raiders serve Corgren and his master, the hidden dragon, Magdronu, who are responsible for the destruction of his childhood home. Athson is drawn into a quest for the concealed Bow of Hart by the mystic Withling, Hastra, but Athson isn’t always sure what’s real and who his enemies are. With Corgren and Magdronu involved, Athson must face not only frequent danger but his grasp on reality and the reasons behind his tragic past.

Book Cover II 300dpiNow that we’ve gotten that over with, let me-. What about the second book? Well, no, we can’t forget about that one. Here’s the latest on An Arrow Against the Wind. I’d like to get it released this Fall in time for the holidays so I’m making a push to finish. I’ve spent a good part of the year bogged down in a number of extraneous, persona issues but I’ve been able to proverbially “buckle-down” lately so I hope to get the book back to my editor ASAP so I can get all the necessary corrections and feedback. Then I’ll hand it over to some early readers for more feedback (if you want to be one just contact me via email and I’ll put you on a list of people). About this time, I should nail up a sign with hard release date and hope to get all the feedback in before that point. I’ll also schedule several blog tours and, hopefully, several internet radio show appearances as well and all just in time for the holidays. Look for news on how to reserve your pre-release copy at a discount price. It’ll be on sale for the tours but not as cheap as pre-release!

Now that we’ve gotten all those details out of the way, here’s what you need to know about tomorrow’s start to The Lost Bow Tour. The first stop will be xxxxxx where you’ll go on a little adventure and learn where the next stop on the tour will be.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to hear from you all during the upcoming tour this week!

The Bow of Destiny Release News

Release day is just a week away and I’m really getting excited. A number of people have kindly offered to help spread the word over their own blogs. I’m deeply grateful for the kindness of my fellow authors and hope all the best for them. If you would like to read a sample of The Bow of Destiny, please visit the Goodreads page where you can also add it to your shelf to receive the release notice. Additionally, heres the book trailer:

BOD FinalI’ve got a number of upcoming posts here and elsewhere that shine a light on The Bow of Destiny. I’ll share about various characters and places in the book over the next few weeks. There are some locales that I’ve realized I drew upon without really thinking about them when I originally wrote the book. These are mainly places I visited when I was a child. It’s interesting where my ideas actually came from when a few might seem rather similar to other fantasy settings. But then I’ve noted over the years that more than a few fantasy authors set their own worlds in places similar to those they had visited or which they called home. I look forward to sharing some of these during the coming weeks and then some of them when the next book, An Arrow Against the Wind, comes out around next April.

Here are a few highlights around the release:

Now onto some fun stuff. As I’ve hinted at once or twice before now, I’m giving away some prizes on release day as part of the block party. To be eligible to win you need to live in the U. S. & make a comment on the main release page on 9/28. Rave Reviews Book Club will gather all the eligible names and choose winners. The prizes will be posted that day but I’ll share them now just to whet your appetite.

  • 3 additional winners will each receive one $25 Amazon Gift Card (either physical or e-card – your choice)

So that’s all for today. Please check the schedule and visit today’s stop with Daniel Adorno and all the other gracious blog hosts on the scheduled days!
