  1. That was a cool post. Thanks for pointing me over there (I left a comment). I never read the Hunger Games, but I loved Harry Potter (with the exception of the first book), and I enjoyed American Gods. Have also read 4 of the Dresden books and have to eventually get back to the series. I thought that was a great post for discussion.

    1. It sure is a good comment on reading for your own tastes and not because it’s popular. But then, most people pick up books because everyone else is reading it – power of word of mouth…

      1. I know. Sometimes though I just have to shake my head at what becomes trendy. The 50 Shades of Grey mania still leaves me bewildered. I encountered so many people who read that book just because “everyone else is reading it.” Ack! I’ll stick with my own tastes, LOL!

      2. Indeed. And that’s a case of poor writing. I tend to think that people were just more titillated by the novelty. But that’s another matter altogether…
