Welcome!

Hello and welcome to all the members from RRBC on the last day of the Rave Reviews Book Club Springtime Book and Block Party. It’s been an eventful month for the entire club. Let’s get some preliminary details out of the way before we go any further. There are two $10 Amazon gift cards available today and all you have to do is leave a comment with an email that allows us to contact you should you win a prize. I’m coming to you today from Alabama where it’s already feeling like summer!

I want to take a moment and express my thanks for all the support Rave Reviews Book Club has provided me and so many other authors over the last few years. I’ve been fortunate to meet a number of helpful authors over that time.

My Latest Writing News

It’s an honor to host today and I’ve had my own exciting week with the release of the latest edition of The Bow of Hart Saga entitled An Arrow Against the Wind. The book was finally released on 4/24 after a long wait on the part of readers and myself with a little announcement here on the blog. There were lots of delays in my life that held me up over the past year but I’ve been able to buckle down the last several months and complete the book. This is the last day of my celebration week and the book is still on sale for $2.99 until the end of the day.

It’s been rather exciting for this series over the last 6-8 months as sales for The Bow of Destiny took off last fall and sold in the thousands. During that time, The Bow of Destiny was name the 2016 Book of the Year by Fantasia reviews which completely stunned me. Some other interesting opportunities are available with the series that are in the works but I’ll address those later. However, I do hope to go to print sometime this year.

But, An Arrow Against the Wind is out and that’s the biggest news of my week! This book is the continuation of The Bow of Destiny and I think it will be quite exciting for readers. There’s already been a wonderful response from readers this week with the book appearing on a number of Amazon hot new release lists.

Books, Blurbs & Links

Haunted by his past. Hunted in the present. Uncertain what is real.

Athson has seen things that aren’t there and suffered fits since being tragically orphaned as a child at the hands of trolls and Corgren the wizard. When a strange will mentioning a mysterious bow comes into his possession, he’s not sure it’s real. But the trolls that soon pursue him are all too real and dangerous. And what’s worse, these raiders serve Corgren and his master, the hidden dragon, Magdronu, who are responsible for the destruction of his childhood home. Athson is drawn into a quest for the concealed Bow of Hart by the mystic Withling, Hastra, but Athson isn’t always sure what’s real and who his enemies are. With Corgren and Magdronu involved, Athson must face not only frequent danger but his grasp on reality and the reasons behind his tragic past.

Conclusion

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by and here’s a little send-off for everyone who’s been following the club tour all month!

Strangely Energized!

I awoke strangely energized today. There’s a lot on my plate for the upcoming weeks but the sense of completion is exciting. Why? I uploaded An Arrow Against the Wind yesterday so it’s ready for release beginning on 4/24! It’s been a long journey to publication of my second novel but it’s finally here!

For anyone who has a few moments and would like to support the release, please click over to my release announcement on Headtalker and lend your support to the effort. Don’t mind the counter for supports as the number just indicates the minimum I set for support – more people than that can support it!

Also, An Arrow Against the Wind started on blog tour today. I’ll update the tour schedule regularly on my News page and anywhere else as well as with social media and here on the site.

I’m very excited about the release of this second book in The Bow of Hart Saga. With sales of The Bow of Destiny now over 5,400 copies. WOW! I wanted to take a moment and thank all the readers for their support for my book. The readers have been wonderful to join this journey with me and I’m thrilled to bring them the newest edition.

An Arrow Against the Wind was a bit of a struggle to complete and took much longer than I anticipated. A number of personal demands took my attention last year including an office move with my former employer and helping my daughter enter college. But I’ve been able to complete the book and it’s ready for everyone to read! So far, the pre-order response to the new book has been incredible and I’m looking forward to a busy release week. The book will begin on Monday with a $0.99 sale after which it will remain on sale for $2.99 for the duration of the month at least (if it’s going well, I’ll extend that sale price).

Many people who’ve read The Bow of Destiny asked when this new book would be out and I expect the same question for the last book of the series, The White Arrow. I’ve already started The White Arrow and hope to complete the rough draft in May and send it off to my editor for structural editing. My tentative publication date for the last book is late September.

Also, a lot of people have expressed interest in print books. Print for the series is a goal for this year, one which I hope to achieve sooner rather than later. I’ll post news about that goal as soon as I can.

Meanwhile, please join me on the blog tour and other events that I’m working over the next several weeks. Thanks again to all my readers and supporters – you’ve been wonderful!

The Bow of Destiny Character Interview: Spark

SparkAs I mentioned on on release day, I added an animal character to The Bow of Destiny at the suggestion of a beta reader. What I settled on was a dog based on my German Shepherds and named him Spark. If you haven’t read the part of the scavenger hunt from Monday please take a look since it shares a funny way of communicating that my male dog has – his tail. That’s correct, when you ask him simple questions he wags his tail for yes and doesn’t for no. So Spark does the same thing. However, Athson is the only one who can see him besides, you, the reader. But, Athson doesn’t quite understand that Spark is communicating with him. Now that you know, you can read the book and understand something additional happening in the book.

Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.

With that in mind, I decided to interview Spark for a bit of unique fun:

Q: How are you today, Spark? Er, I mean, are you well today Spark? (Gotta stick to the question rules!)

Spark: wag, wag, wag.

Q: So you’ve been with Athson since he was orphaned?

Spark: wag, wag, wag.

Q: Do other people see you?

Spark: no tail wag.

Q: Are you real?

Spark: wag, wag, wag.

Q: Is there a reason you follow Athson?

Spark cocks his head and lets loose a low growl.

Uh, right, we’re not getting int that now (and that question didn’t follow the rules).

Q: Let’s find out your favorite place. Do you like Auguron Forest?

Spark: wag, wag, wag.

Q: Do you like the Troll Heaths?

Spark: no tail wag

Q: Do you like Chokkra?

Spark: one, slight tail wag.

Hmm, guess he’s got an opinion that we can’t quite understand at the moment.

Q: Do you like Athson?

Spark: pants , wag, wag, wag.

Q: Do you have a deeper propose in the series?

Spark: cocks his head and growls again.

Uh, well I guess he doesn’t want to talk about that.

So that’s Spark and now you are in on the secret that not even Athson has figured out. I hope the interview was unique and fun and you’re a little intrigued with the book.
