Archer’s Aim December 2021 Poll

Vote in this poll to help be decide which series I should work on first during 2022.

There are already three books on my list to release during the year so this poll is for what project to work on first after those are released.

  • The Heir of Hart (sequel series to The Bow of Hart Saga) – I have the series planned and won’t have much to develop in terms of world-building.
  • Book 4 of The Cursed Mage Case Files – it’s a world already developed so it can be easy to write.
  • Book 2 of The Black Glove Curse – again, it will be a world already developed and easy to write.
  • The Lost Treasure Adventures – book 1, All Things Forgotten, is a completed draft, but there is a good bit of world-building to complete as well as a heavy revision.
  • The Broken Shield Chronicles – the first book, The Last Paladin, is a very rough draft that also requires development with the world-building.

Which fantasy series should I work on next (after the first Black Glove book is published)?

Friday Fantasy: Alternate Cover Poll for The Order of the Dark Rose

Hey everyone. I recently spent some time mocking up some alternate covers for The Order of the Dark Rose and I thought it would be fun to find out which one people like better. I don’t plan to use these but they were fun to create and offer a slightly different variation for the cover. To view the alternates, just scroll through the carousel, choose the number and click it in the poll below everything. Have fun!

Here’s more about  The Order of the Dark Rose, Volume 1 of The Cursed Mage Case Files:

Blurb:

An arch-mage can handle almost anything. Unless he’s cursed, lost his job and facing an unknown enemy.

The Gallantean Empire relies increasingly upon magical technology which cleans sewers, runs trams and much more. Within the capital city of Cal Rindon, magic is pervasive, but not necessarily used without criminal activity. The bustling metropolis boasts constant innovations mixed with growing pains. Amid the good lurks the bad with unrest and growing crime.

Arch-mage Manny Mandeheim fell under a curse, watched his fiancé die, and then lost his job as a spy. So what’s an arch-mage to do? Start his own magical investigation service while he works to clear his good name and maybe avenge his lost love. With his very un-magical partner, Wish Ackford, Manny discovers the menace of a much larger conspiracy than he expected looming behind his curse. The limitations from the hex leave him at a distinct disadvantage as he and Wish investigate.

Assassins lurk at every corner or in every tram car. The threat of an unknown mastermind with murky intentions lingers just out of sight. A questionable source offers the hint of a secret order hounding Manny’s footsteps. A murder leads to wrenching discoveries.

Nothing an arch-mage can’t handle…

Unless the curse limits how much magic he can use or kills him outright.

A mixture of gaslamp fantasy and Sherlock Holmes-like cases, The Order of the Dark Rose is a sleuth private detective mystery set in an alternate fantasy world where magic is both commonplace and dangerous. Mysteries abound in this original, new fantasy from P. H. Solomon, author of the award-winning, best-selling epic fantasy series, The Bow of Hart Saga.

Can Manny survive long enough to break his curse? Or will the arch-mage’s hidden foe escape him?

Fun Friday: Cover Polls

Today, I thought I’d have a little fun and gather a bit of information about my books. An author hears some things but never quite all that is needed to understand what readers like.

Covers fall into a category of attracting attention visually. I spend a good bit of money on totally original cover art because epic fantasy demands it.

With that in mind, I think it’s time I found out which of the covers among my books readers find the best. I’ve added polls for each type of covers, the ones I’ve commissioned and then ones I’ve done myself. My DIY covers were done on a shoestring because they are for free books (or nearly free) so I don’t have money to sink into them (though I wish I did for the sake of consistency). Also, I include in my DIY cover, one that is not part of The Bow of Hart Saga story-arc, just for fun – after all, it fun Friday!
